State Program Offers Free Energy Conservation and Waste Reduction Audits
The Retired Engineer Technical Assistance Program (RETAP) provides free energy conservation and waste reduction audits conducted by teams of retired engineers.
Clients receive written, confidential reports containing specific recommendations to save money, reduce energy usage, conserve water, and eliminate waste generation.
Over 1,900 audits have been completed to date, with a demonstrated record of identifying over $40,000 in potential cost savings per facility assessed.
There is no obligation to act on any recommendation offered. However, most clients report acting on 70% or more of the recommendations within two years of receiving their report.
Requesting a free energy conservation and waste reduction audit is simple and quick - just visit the RETAP website at www.michigan.gov/retap or contact David Herb, RETAP Manager at 517-284-6863 or herbd@michigan.gov.
