Compost Operations: Regulations and Best Management Practices Workshop

December 4
MSU Detroit Center
Detroit

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality is pleased to offer a Compost Operations Workshop, designed to provide businesses and local officials involved with compost operations the informational tools and training needed to operate a larger scale operation in Michigan. The workshop will provide information about composting basics and address complex issues such as facility siting, operations, trouble shooting, and marketing. A key focus of the training will be on state regulations that affect compost operations, including important water regulations that composting operations must comply with. The full-day training includes lunch, materials, and valuable networking time. All attendees will receive a copy of the Michigan Compost Operator Training Guidebook.

Who should attend:

  • Businesses and municipalities that compost or are thinking about providing composting services.
  • Consultants and local officials interested in learning more about what a facility needs to know to comply with state regulations will benefit from the information and networking opportunities provided at this workshop.

Don't miss out on your chance to participate in this valuable training.

For questions, contact Duane Roskoskey, Office of Waste management and Radiological Protection, at 517-582-3445 or e-mail at roskoskeyd@michigan.gov.

This workshop will also be offered on March 24, 2015 in Mount Pleasant.
