2025 Hazardous Waste User Charge Invoice Announcement
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), Materials Management Division (MMD), announces that Hazardous Waste User Charge Invoice packages will be mailed during March 2025. Generators can expect to begin receiving the packets the week of March 10, 2025. The package will include an invoice and instructions. The pre-populated Site Identification Form (EQP5150), will not be included; however, a link to the current EQP5150 will be provided in the instructions.
Invoice payments are due on or before April 30, 2025. Payment may be made by check, money order, or online with a Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover credit card. Please return the invoice or a copy of the invoice and check or money order to the EGLE Cashiers Office–HWUC, P.O. Box 30657, Lansing, Michigan 48909-7741. When paying with a credit card, please return the the invoice and credit card receipt to EGLE-HWUSERCHARGES@Michigan.gov.
The Hazardous Waste User Charge invoice reflects the 2024 hazardous waste generator status activity provided by the facility. A very small quantity generator (VSQG) of hazardous waste is not invoiced unless it experienced an episodic event during the year. Similarly, a small quantity generator (SQG) of hazardous waste that experienced an episodic event during the year will be billed at the large quantity generator (LQG) level. See the VSQG and SQG guidance for more details.
Generators needing to update their site notification information can access the EQP5150 online, make any edits necessary, then print, certify, and submit it with or without the invoice to EGLE-HWUSERCHARGES@Michigan.gov.
For more information on Hazardous Waste User Charges, please see the Hazardous Waste User Charges and Invoice Packets website. For questions about your invoice or if your invoice package does not arrive by April 4, 2025, please contact the Environmental Assistance Center at 800-662-9278 or e-mail EGLE-HWUSERCHARGES@Michigan.gov.
