RIDE Update: Now Accepting Part 201 Submittals
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), Remediation and Redevelopment Division (RRD) has recently released updates to the Remediation Information Data Exchange (RIDE) database and is hosting a web-based training on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. The update allows Third-Party users to submit reports, including Baseline Environmental Assessments (BEAs), though the RIDE portal on the Inventory of Facilities page.
RIDE Third-Party users have had the ability to provide RRD with submittals specific to the Part 213 program since 2022. With the most recent update, a Third-Party user can now upload the following submittals for any Part 201 or Part 213 Facility on the RIDE Inventory of Facilities:
- EQP4025: Baseline Environmental Assessment
- EQP4400: Request for Certificate of Completion
- EQP4402: Documentation of Due Care Compliance
- EQP4030: Request for EGLE Review of No Further Action Report
- EQP4028: Request for EGLE Review of Response Activity Plan
- EQP4380: Request for EGLE Review of Response Activity Plan to Comply with 7a(1)(b)
Electronic submittal of reports is the preferred method of transmitting reports to EGLE. To submit reports to EGLE-RRD electronically, a Third-Party user account is required. Third-Party user accounts are available by creating or using an existing MILogin for Business account, which connects users to many State of Michigan business services through a single user ID and password. For instructions on how to become a RIDE Third-Party user, please visit the Become a RIDE User Instructions webpage.
For guidance on submitting reports electronically to RRD, please visit the Guide to Electronic Submittals for Third-Party Users webpage. In certain instances, particularly when providing BEA reports, the Facility in question may not be listed on the Inventory of Facilities. To accommodate this, RIDE now has a ‘Facility Not Found’ feature that allows the user to upload a report for a location that is not currently on the inventory. Information on using this feature can be found on the Using Facility Not Found Guidance webpage.
Resources and information on utilizing RIDE is available on the RIDE informational website. Also, please join EGLE-RRD on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, from 1 - 3 p.m. for web-based training on how to establish a MiLogin/RIDE user account, navigate the recent updates to RIDE, and submit reports electronically. Registration for the virtual training webinar is now available.
