Upcoming virtual training
This series is for beginners and established operators who would like more understanding of chemistry as it relates to water treatment. This virtual chemistry series will help establish the background knowledge required to progress to the next state of chemistry for drinking water and wastewater operators.
This virtual course will teach the principles of cross connection control as they relate to public water supply systems. The need for continued training in the field of cross connection control in Michigan is readily apparent given the major incidents of backflow that have occurred in water utilities in recent years. Cross connections on public water supply distribution systems continue to pose a distinct threat to potable water supplies. Learn how cross connections affect public health, the potential risks and liabilities, how to conduct surveys and carry out enforcement actions, the two types of hydraulic conditions that cause backflow, and backflow prevention assemblies and their applications.
This training on the Michigan Lead and Copper Rule is provided to assist community water systems required to conduct lead and copper sampling during 2023.
