EGLE announces virtual training on MiEHDWIS for Community Water Supplies
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) is pleased to announce the electronic platform called Michigan Environmental Health and Drinking Water Information System (MiEHDWIS). MiEHDWIS will be your workspace to submit documents, track the progress of those submissions, and communicate with EGLE staff. The goal of MiEHDWIS is to streamline communication between Michigan's public drinking water supplies and EGLE, increase data transparency, and facilitate collaboration between EGLE and local health department staff supporting environmental health programs.
Description of training
Join EGLE Drinking Water and Environmental Health Division Community Water Supply staff in a demonstration of how to create a MILogin for Third Party account, request access to MiEHDWIS, complete the Certifier Agreement process, and utilize the Customer Portal to submit documentation to EGLE electronically.
Who should attend?
Community water supply staff members responsible for submitting documents to EGLE. If any staff from a water supply are planning to attend, the Administrative Contact (the person with primary responsibility for the water supply) must also be in attendance with separate registration. The session will walk participants through the process to obtain “Certifier” status and the Administrative Contact is required to process those requests. If the Administrative Contact is not present, this process cannot occur live, as intended.
EGLE staff will walk you through the process of getting access to MiEHDWIS and submitting documentation. Additional EGLE staff will be on hand to provide troubleshooting and to process account requests in real-time. There will be time for questions and answers. EGLE recommends that participants access this training with the computer they would be using to access the MiEHDWIS system so they can actively follow along. The training presented will be the same content at each session. Sign up for one of the training dates below. Space is limited to 50 participants in each session.
- If you have not already done so, set up both your MILogin account and MiEHDWIS account (if you don't already have one) before the training session. In order to set up these accounts, you must have an email address.
- View the video tutorial and/or instructions to set up a MILogin for Third Party account (if you don’t already have one). A third-party MILogin account is necessary to use MiEHDWIS for community water supplies. A third-party account is a business-oriented account with greater assurance regarding the identity of the account holder. If you already have a third-party MILogin account, you do not need a separate one to use MiEHDWIS.
- View the video tutorial and/or instructions to request access to MiEHDWIS through MILogin.
