UPDATE: Arbor Hills Landfill consent decree amended

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) along with the United States Environmental Protection Agency finalized an amendment to the Arbor Hills Energy consent decree on August 22, 2022. The consent decree was amended to include two new timelines:

By May 15, 2023, high quality landfill gas will be treated in a partially constructed Renewable Natural Gas facility to remove hydrogen sulfide.
By October 31, 2023, the full Renewable Natural Gas facility must be operational, greatly reducing SO₂ emissions.
