 Public comment period extended until September 22 for Ajax draft air permit
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) has granted an additional extension of the public comment period on a draft air permit for a new asphalt plant proposed by Ajax Materials Corporation (Ajax) in Genesee Township, Genesee County. EGLE will continue to take comments on the draft air permit until September 22.
During the September 1 online public meeting and hearing, and in written correspondence after the hearing, a request for an additional extension of the comment period was made. The comment period will now remain open until September 22, 2021.
Before making a comment, you may want to review information about the proposed asphalt plant and draft air permit. The proposed project summary gives a good overview of Ajax’s request, the contents of the draft permit, and what this may mean to local residents. Both the August 3 and September 1 public meetings are also available to view.
