Liquid Industrial By-Products Reports Due April 30, 2021
If your facility accepts liquid waste or liquid by-products from another non-household site, you are required to report this activity to the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) by April 30, 2021.
Only sites that accept liquid waste or by-product from one site owned and operated by the same company are excluded from the annual reporting requirement.
Reporters can find the form and instructions on the EGLE Liquid Industrial By-Product Reporting Web page, complete the form, and e-mail or mail it as instructed.
Common liquid waste and by-products that must be reported when received from off-site via public roadway include:
- Storm sewer and certain sanitary sewer clean-out wastes
- Catch basin wastes from places like car washes and auto repair shops
- Antifreeze
- Food processing and slaughterhouse wastes
- Power washing wastewaters and sludges
- Commercial animal boarding, breeding and sale wastewaters and sludges
- Used oil
- Brine
- Animal and vegetable fats
- Leachate
- Very small quantity generator (VSQG) hazardous waste liquids exempted from hazardous waste regulation, formerly called conditionally exempt small quantity generator (CESQG) hazardous waste liquids
- Other liquids exempted from hazardous waste regulation like fuels being recycled
- Universal waste liquids partially exempted from hazardous waste regulation like pharmaceuticals, antifreeze, and pesticides
- Non-hazardous remediation wastewaters and sludges
