EGLE Remediation and Redevelopment Division Announces Policy and Procedures Updates
The Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy, Remediation and Redevelopment Division (RRD) is in the process of updating numerous internal policy and procedures. As an outcome of that process a need was identified to provide public access to relevant information from the policy and procedures that could assist a cleanup program owner or operator with meeting their obligations. RRD is developing Resource Materials to provide such information.
The first of the new additions is Resource Materials for the Information Necessary to Process a Part 213 Reporting Extension. This addresses the necessary information to process a request for extensions of the statutory reporting deadlines for good cause and was developed consistent with RRD Policy and Procedure for Part 213 Reporting Extension and Audit Extension Procedure (RRD-23). This document provides information regarding the content of the extension request, examples that represent good cause, and other key points. The information in this document was included in an RRD News & Info Bulletin on April 25, 2020 and has been duplicated for easy access.
The second of the new additions is Resource Materials for the Information Necessary to Process a BEA Inconsequential Request. This addresses the necessary information to process a request for a determination of inconsequential with respect to the time frames for conducting and submitting a Baseline Environmental Assessment (BEA). This document was developed consistent with RRD Policy and Procedure for BEA Inconsequential Determinations RRD-39. The document provides information regarding the necessary content of the request, and other key points.
As additional RRD Policy and Procedures are updated they will be assessed to determine if there is information that could provide compliance assistance to the regulated community. Watch your RRD News & Info for additional releases.
Questions on these Resource Materials may be directed to Patty Brandt, Remediation and Redevelopment Division Program Specialist at BrandtP@Michigan.gov, or directed to EGLE-RRD@Michigan.gov. Please do not reply to this email.
