Reminder: GM-Hamtramck Air Permit Virtual Hearing, April 30

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) is holding a public comment period from March 25, 2020 through May 29, 2020 for GM Hamtramck’s proposed new auto assembly line. A virtual public hearing will be held on April 30, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.

April 23, 2020 Recording of Informational Session Available

Information on the proposed permit is available on the EGLE Air Quality website on Michigan.gov/Air, choose “Permits,” (on the left side of the page), then choose “Permits (PTI / NSR) Public Notice,” then choose “New Source Review (NSR) Permits Open for Comment.” The recording from the April 23 Informational Session is also available for viewing.

Pre-registration is not required to attend the hearing. Individuals interested in participating can click the hearing link at the start of the event (6:00 p.m.) at https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/7889841859975486478.

Individuals concerned about remaining anonymous can click on the above link at the start of the event (6:00 p.m.) and enter first name and last name initial. If you do not want to enter your email address, just enter eglemeeting@mi.gov in the email field. NOTE: If you use this email address and do not enter a valid email address into this field, you will not receive the follow up information that is normally sent to attendees at the event.

Attending the hearing is not the only way to participate in public participation process. There are several other ways to provide comment:
