Virtual Public Meeting to be held for GM Hamtramck air permit application The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) has scheduled a virtual public meeting on April 30 to allow for comments on a proposed air permit (No. 209-19) for General Motors, LLC Detroit Hamtramck Assembly’s proposed new auto assembly line.
The virtual meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and include an Informational and Question and Answer Session so the public can get details or ask clarifying questions about the proposed project. The virtual hearing closes a public comment period, which starts today. Interested parties are encouraged to present written views on the proposed project. You can do so by:
Details regarding the proposed air permit as well as information on how to provide comments now, are available on the New Source Review Permits Open for Comment page. Registration for the virtual public meeting will be open beginning on April 16, 2020. Once open, a link to register for the meeting will be posted on the New Source Review Permits Open for Comment page. All comments received during this process will be reviewed and considered in the final decision. A written response of the decision made regarding the proposed permit will be provided after a final decision is made.
