Dear Water Supplies,

As a follow-up to an earlier communication, EGLE has created additional resources to assist water supplies and residents with flushing after water service has been restored to homes.

We understand that many water supplies are choosing to restoreFlushing Appliances When Water Service Is Restored water to homes that were previously disconnected in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19. As this action of water service restoration comes with the need to flush house plumbing and appliances, EGLE has created a video, "Flushing Your House Plumbing and Appliances When Water Service Are Restored" and additional guidance, "Flushing Your Appliances When Water Service Is Restored" to assist.

Flushing Your Whole House Plumbing When Water Service Is Restored

These two additional resources supplement last week's publication shared, “When Restoring Service - Guidance on Flushing your Whole Home Plumbing System and Cleaning Aerators.”

All resource materials are available at the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy's Drinking Water web page at www.Michigan.gov/DrinkingWater (translations available in Spanish and Arabic).
