EGLE Launches Recycling Campaign in Northern Michigan TRAVERSE CITY, MI To kick off the Know It Before You Throw It education campaign in Traverse City, EGLE will announce major grants that combined with local funds will deliver more than $3.6 million to improve recycling infrastructure in Grand Traverse and Emmet counties. The grant announcements are part of the Traverse City kickoff of EGLE’s Know It Before You Throw It education campaign - featuring Michigan’s new Recycling Raccoon Squad and their goal to reduce the amount of contaminated materials going into recycling bins and double the state’s recycling rate to 30% by 2025.
