UPDATE: MICHIGAN’S ANNUAL AIR QUALITY REPORT FOR 2017

Every year the MDEQ’s Air Quality Division releases a comprehensive report of air monitoring information from the past year. The 2017 Annual Air Quality Report focuses on information related to the National Ambient Air Quality Standards for specific pollutants and toxic air contaminants, but also contains important information on the following:

Report Cover
  • monitor locations throughout the state
  • types of monitoring done at each location
  • concentrations of air pollutants
  • pollutant trends over time

Air Quality Index (AQI) information, meteorological information and other special monitoring projects can also be found in this detailed report.

Since the 2017 report identifies pollutant information by air monitoring location, you will be able to find out what air monitors are in your area. You will also be able to view the concentrations of air pollutants being measured in your area, as well as how the levels of measured air pollutants have been trending over the years.

If you have questions about the contents of the 2017 report, please contact Cindy Hodges at 517-284-6748 or hodgesc@michigan.gov.

More information on the Air Quality Division’s annual program activities, such as permitting and inspections, can be found in the Year End Air Quality Program Report or at www.michigan.gov/air.
