MDEQ Establishes New NPS Program GovDelivery List The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) Water Resources Division has established a new GovDelivery email distribution list covering the Nonpoint Source (NPS) Program. Subscribers will be notified about NPS Program activities including Request for Proposals, grant awards, webinars, workshops, and other NPS Program‑related events. In addition, subscribers will be notified when there are proposed changes to the MDEQ WRD Nonpoint Source Best Management Practices Manual (BMP Manual), and given an opportunity to provide comments. Updating the MDEQ BMP Manual is an ongoing effort. The manual introduction and individual best management practices (BMPs) are updated on an ongoing basis, with the long‑term goal of reviewing the entire manual at least every five years. As part of this process, announcements of proposed updates to the BMP Manual will be announced through the newly established NPS GovDelivery distribution list described above. The first of these proposed changes is described below. The proposed Upland Grade Stabilization Structures BMP (v2018.7.20), which has been posted to the BMP Manual web page, is available for review and comment. This proposed BMP is an update of the existing Grade Stabilization Structures BMP (v1992.12.1), which will ultimately be replaced, and is also available on the BMP Manual web page for comparison. Please provide any comments on this proposed BMP by 8/31/2018 to Steve Holden at holdens@michigan.gov. You are receiving this information because you are subscribed to an existing MDEQ GovDelivery list. To subscribe to the new NPS Program email distribution list, go to the MDEQ’s GovDelivery web page, enter your email address, and scroll down to "MDEQ Nonpoint Source Program." |
