Hello,
My name is Ryan Speidel and I’m the director of Michigan’s Office of the Child Advocate (OCA). Our core mission is to improve the state’s child welfare system, which includes finding solutions for children who are being physically abused by their parents or caregivers. I'm reaching out to share an important video on how to recognize injuries on children that are HIGHLY suspicious of CHILD ABUSE. The training resource video TEN-4-FACESp.

Seasoned professionals may experience difficulty identifying physical abuse in children under the age of 4. Recognizing these injuries can be very difficult. I hope that the TEN-4-FACESp video will provide a tool to assist you in responding to and preventing injuries of physical child abuse. You can help save children’s lives using this educational video, which introduces the easy-to-remember acronym TEN-4-FACESp — where each letter and number represents how and what to look for in signs of abuse.
I also wanted to share access to additional TEN-4-FACESp resources:
- TEN-4-FACESp Empowerment Document
- TEN-4-FACESp video
These items can be viewed by clicking here.
Together, we can feel empowered to prevent the deaths of children across the state of Michigan.

Thanks,
Ryan Speidel
