Michigan Craft Beverage Council Now Accepting Research Grant Proposals

Proposals must be received no later than 3 p.m. on Friday, October 13

The Michigan Craft Beverage Council (MCBC) is accepting research grant proposals for the 2024 research program, with a maximum grant award of $40,000.

Spotlight on Michigan Hard Cider!

Paula Englin, Michigan Cider Association

The Michigan Cider Association recently announced Paula Englin as the organization’s new executive director. Welcome, Paula!

Take the 2023 Michigan Hard Cider Survey. The Michigan Cider Association is asking any business that currently makes hard cider or plans to make hard cider to respond. The survey takes only minutes and will provide valuable information for the future of Michigan’s thriving hard cider industry. Everyone who takes the survey will be entered into a drawing for a pass to CiderCon 2024.

American Cider Association announced that October is officially National Cider Month. Look for information in coming weeks on how to leverage this marketing effort.

The Michigan Cider Association Annual Meeting will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023, from 7:30 – 9PM during the Great Lakes EXPO in Grand Rapids.

MDARD Announces Farm Innovation Grant Opportunity to Help Michigan’s Food and Agriculture Industry Address Climate Change

Proposals due by 3 p.m., November 20, 2023

The Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development (MDARD) is now accepting applications for a one-time farm innovation grant program. The Farm Innovation Grant Program is designed to help develop and support innovative solutions to real, immediate, and future problems facing Michigan’s food and agriculture industry.

Those interested in applying should visit www.michigan.gov/mdardgrants to view the application and grant guidelines. Any additional communications concerning this Request for Proposals should be sent to mda-grants@michigan.gov
