The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) is seeking applications for a new Wastewater Infrastructure Fund Grant. As a reimbursement grant, this program will be assisting the food and agriculture industry to ensure compliance with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy wastewater regulations under the Groundwater Discharge Permit Program.
Beginning August 8, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. EST, applications will be accepted continually until the funding is exhausted. The grant cycle is determined by funding awarded and distributed to approved projects.

Michigan State University Extension is conducting a comprehensive assessment of Grape Erineum Mite infestations throughout the state, with a special focus on the Northwest region of the Lower Peninsula. These mites might impact grapevine productivity if left unaddressed. MSUe requests the input and vigilance of Michigan grape growers to help monitor and manage this issue effectively.

The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) awarded Value-Added and Regional Food System grants to 24 Michigan producers, processors, and community development organizations. These grants help retain, expand, attract, or develop agricultural processing in Michigan through targeted investments in technology and equipment, feasibility studies, healthy food access, regional food systems, and urban agriculture.
Congratulations to the craft beverage businesses and the growers that support the craft beverage industry who were awarded funding with this grant.
