We would like to extend a warm welcome to the new Agriculture Development Division Deputy Director and manager of the International Marketing Program, Nate Engle!
Nate Engle joins the Agriculture Development Division with a management background in the private sector and in nonprofit organizations. Most recently, he designed, built, commissioned, and led Africa’s newest chocolate factory, producing food products for the US market while integrating a farmer supplier network into what is recognized by the chocolate industry as one of the sector’s most innovative business models. Engle has managed USAID-funded grants and contracts in Afghanistan expanding municipal services; has set up and run an agricultural extension system in South Sudan; and has led execution on international construction projects. He served his country volunteering as an agricultural extension technician in the Peace Corps in Madagascar. Nate has served on several food and agriculture working groups in various membership associations and has been active in Rotary Club. He earned a Master of Public Administration degree from Grand Valley State University, a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning degree from Michigan State University, and he holds both project management and PCQI certification.
