As one of the nation’s most agriculturally diverse states, growing more than 300 different commodities on a commercial basis, Michigan is uniquely positioned to grow, process, and manufacture industrial hemp. This emerging crop not only cultivates new opportunity for our farming community, but also creates an avenue for new businesses to crop up across the state.

In the latest edition of the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development’s (MDARD) Fresh from the Field podcast, MDARD’s Industrial Hemp Program Director Gina Alessandri and Industrial Hemp Program Specialist Molly Mott talk with iHemp’s Blain Becktold about Michigan’s hemp program.
