LANSING, Mich.- Today, the Michigan Water Stewardship Program (MWSP), a sister program to the Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP), announced the relaunch of their website, www.MiWaterStewardship.org. The updated site provides more resources for homeowners, students, and educators around water quality. It also includes a new feature, Water Story, which allows users to navigate three different paths that explore different aspects of the water cycle and help participants make important connections to our water resources.

The website will also feature a water game that will be released in the next few months. The game will have water droplets falling from the sky and on their way down to the ground, they will encounter pollution in the forms of oil, plastic, and other trash. Users will gain points as they dodge pollution.

“The Michigan Water Stewardship Program website is a great tool to learn about the importance of water to our everyday life,” said Joe Kelpinski, MAEAP Program Manager. “It provides a fun and interactive way to engage constituents around taking care of our water resources.”

MWSP is a network of organizations that provide educational assistance to Michigan’s residents to identify and reduce contamination risks to water and other natural resources. The program encourages individuals to take voluntary proactive steps to protect Michigan’s water quality (our drinking water) and other valuable natural resources. This grant-funded program was made possible by the State of Michigan’s Groundwater/Freshwater fund and is run by the Eaton Conservation District.
