Law Day: Exploring How the Judicial Branch Shapes our Lives (Virtual)

May 1, 10:00-10:30 a.m.

What is the purpose of the judicial branch? What does it mean to "interpret the law"? How do different types of courts relate? Participants will explore these questions and more with a Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court. 

Content will be relevant and engaging for students from upper elementary through high school. Educators may submit Q&A questions ahead of the program.

Michigan Supreme Court: Court Community Connections (In-Person & Virtual)

April 23, 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Experience the Michigan Supreme Court in action with the 31st Court Community Connections Program. High schools are invited to attend oral arguments at the Lowell High School Performing Arts Center or watch via livestream. Exploring Careers in the Law (Lansing & Detroit)

Do you know teens who are curious about legal careers? Participants in Exploring Careers in the Law will learn like law students by preparing and presenting a moot court case as if before the Supreme Court. Rising 10th-grade students through 2025 graduates are eligible.

Free, guided tours of the Learning Center gallery are available year round, except court holidays. Reservations can be made up to a year in advance, but select times are available yet this semester.
