System Maintenance: CEPI Applications and MI School Data

CEPI applications and MI School Data will be intermittently offline for maintenance on Sunday, July 4 from 6 a.m. to noon EDT. Only limited informational inquires will be available during this time.

Are Your EEM Records Up to Date?

Colleges and universities should review their information in the Educational Entity Master to ensure it is accurate and up-to-date. Contact information in EEM is used by CEPI for important communications, and all entities should ensure they have the following contacts listed: Chancellor, Chief Financial Officer, Dean, Director of Institutional Research, MI School Data Keyholder, MPDI Data Coordinator, President, Provost and Registrar. Please make any appropriate updates in the EEM by June 30.

Please refer to the Are Your EEM Records Up to Date memo for further information.

Removal of 2019-20 School Year Data in STARR

CEPI will remove 2019-20 STARR data from the MSDS STARR staging area in preparation for the 2020-21 STARR Collection.

If you wish to retain any data from the 2019-20 school year, download and save your collection and reports by July 2. After this date, users will no longer have access to staging areas or reports in MSDS for that school year.

Data for the 2019-20 school year will continue to be available from the MI School Data website.

Tuition and Fees 2021-22 Collection Opens July 1

The Tuition and Fees Collection in the MPDI application opens on July 1 for collection of 2021-22 community college tuition and fees data. These data are due to CEPI by Aug. 31.

Support materials can be found on the CEPI Postsecondary Applications – MPDI web page.

Important Information on UICs

Acquiring UICs at Student Enrollment

It is best practice to acquire and assign UICs at student enrollment. Early acquisition of UICs enables the integration of student level data across state systems (e.g., MiSSG and STARR). This is especially important in enabling the state to assist in completing compliance reporting requirements in support of various college grant programs.

Ensuring Primary UIC is in Student Information System

When an entity submits a UIC into a collection or reruns resolution, the matching process may replace it with a primary UIC in the collection. This can occur when the submitted UIC has previously been linked and is now a secondary UIC. Please refer to the List of Changed UICs Report, a point-in-time report, in the IHE Request for UIC and the STARR collections to ensure the primary UIC is listed in your student system. This report is found in the staging area under UIC Resolution Reports.
