CEPI applications and MI School Data will be intermittently unavailable due to maintenance on Sunday, March 7 from 6 a.m. to noon EST. Only limited informational inquires will be available during this time.
Per state law, districts are required to administer benchmark assessments to all students in grades K-8. Districts that choose to provide either benchmark assessments with progress monitoring tools or local benchmark assessments must report to MDE and CEPI the benchmark assessment(s) administered, how that assessment measures changes, and the district’s plan for addressing any losses in learning. If a district uses multiple local assessments for different grade spans, each assessment and the grade served must be reported.
Districts that meet the criteria above must complete the survey in MDE’s GEMS-MARS system. This survey is now available, and all responses are due April 12.
To submit a response, users must sign in with a MEIS account. If you do not have an account, you may Create a New MEIS Account. As a reminder, districts administering NWEA MAP, Curriculum Associates iReady, Renaissance Star, DRC delivered Smarter Balanced Interim, or the MDE Early Literacy and Mathematics Benchmark assessments will report benchmark assessment data through the Michigan Data Hub.
