During this time of heightened concern due to COVID-19, we want to be transparent about our plans to do our part and detail the steps we’re taking to ensure you will continue to receive uninterrupted support from CEPI.
As of Monday, March 16, the State of Michigan’s Office of the State Employer has encouraged all employees who can work from home to do so in order to comply with social distancing recommendations. CEPI is complying with this request with few exceptions. We have also eliminated non-essential travel and moved in-person meetings to virtual formats. We are confident these measures will help to ensure the health and safety of our team and community.
Please rest assured our employees are working at full capacity and have the tools and resources to support our education partners, customers and stakeholders from any location. Our Customer Support team will continue to provide consistent and reliable support. Our service hours remain from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT. While we are no longer able to answer phone calls during this period, we will be checking voicemail daily and responding to all inquiries via email. Please email us at CEPI@michigan.gov at any time.
We will continue to send any necessary updates as the situation evolves. In the meantime, we encourage you to follow cdc.gov and the World Health Organization for the latest COVID-19 updates.
Thank you and stay safe,
Tom Howell, CEPI Executive Director
MILogin maintenance will occur the evening of Sunday, March 22. CEPI systems will be intermittently inaccessible from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. the following day.
Per MDE's March 5 memo, CEPI has created a new Third Grade Retention Collection web page containing information for the collection opening in early June. Per subsection 16 of the Third Grade Reading Law (MCL 380.1280f), districts are required to report retention decisions to CEPI no later than Sept. 1 of each school year, beginning in 2020.
Have you had any changes in your district or school entities since the beginning of the school year? If so, it is important that the Educational Entity Master be updated to reflect these changes. Please make any appropriate updates in the EEM by Thursday, April 9.
Please refer to the Are Your EEM Records Up to Date? Memo for further information.
In order to accommodate the SID user migration from MEIS to MILogin, the SID collection previously scheduled to open April 1 will now open May 1. The delayed opening will allow districts to re-establish their SID authorized user access. After the SID migration on March 30, please ensure your district has at least one authorized user of the collection prior to the opening May 1.
