2018-19 TSDL: New Shared-Time Reporting Requirement

An April 25 MDE communication stated that if a district claims at least one nonpublic or homeschooled pupil in membership, then all course offerings must be reported for the district's entire student population.

UIC Request Justifications

For a new UIC request to be successfully processed, please include justifications that provide contextual information, such as:

  • Relocation (e.g. “Student just moved to Michigan from Florida”).
  • First-time entry into public education (e.g. “Student was previously homeschooled and we've confirmed the student has never received services before through the public school system”).

The UIC State Administrator sees the same information on the resolution screen as district users. Justifications should not:

  • List the core fields that are different.
  • Simply state that “the students are not the same.”

For more information and examples, please review the UIC Request Guide.

D/CH Collection Now Open

The Days and Clock Hours Collection is now open in the EEM for the 2018-19 school year. Reporting instructional days and hours is mandated by state law and must be completed by all districts no later than July 16.

ISD users have until Aug. 1 to review and certify the report. We encourage districts to complete their submission as soon as possible after the school year ends, so corrections can be submitted as identified by the ISD

For application questions, refer to the D/CH User Guide. Questions regarding the State School Aid Act should be directed to Brian Ciloski at CiloskiB@michigan.gov.
