FID Migrated to MILogin

The FID Application has migrated from MEIS to a more robust security/logon system called MILogin. This moves CEPI’s applications closer to a single sign-on security stance. MILogin is the same security system currently used by EEM, GAD, MSDS and REP. For more information, please read the MILogin migration announcement.

OEAA Using MSDS Data for Assessment and Accountability Reporting

The Fall and Spring General Collections, along with Student Record Maintenance files, will be used for assessment and accountability reporting. To ensure accurate reports, districts need to submit SRMs to update their student enrollment (exits and new enrollments) and student demographics in MSDS.

For a list of deadlines and additional information, see MDE's March 7 Spotlight Newsletter.

Update: Early Reading Deficiency Component

CEPI has posted an updated version of the MSDS manual with information about the new Early Reading Deficiency Component. The EOY 2019 General Collection schemas and sample file have also been updated on the MSDS website.

Three new characteristics were added for the Early Reading Deficiency Component:

  1. Reading Deficiency Identified (Required)
  2. Reading Deficiency Continuation (Conditional)
  3. Reading Deficiency Activities (Conditional)

For more information, refer to MDE’s memo: Section 35a(5) Reporting Requirement Update.

Contact the Office of Educational Supports at MDE-EarlyLiteracy@michigan.gov with policy-related questions. For questions on how to report this component in MSDS, contact CEPI Customer Support.
