MI School Data: Report Release News

Released to the Public

24 College CreditsShows how long Michigan public high school graduates are taking to accumulate 24 college credits. The data can give insights on whether high school graduates are on track to earn a timely college degree and how well students are progressing. How quickly students accumulate the credits needed for a degree can be an indicator of preparedness for college. Preparedness could mean academic readiness, but could also include factors like financial and social readiness and personal goals. The report has been updated with “Time to Complete 24 Credits” data for graduation years 2015-16 and prior.

College Enrollment Destination: Allows users to view the colleges and universities in which students enrolled by school or district, and by graduation year. Data can be displayed by students’ initial college enrollments and by all college enrollments. There are two trend views: “H.S. Graduation Year Trend” follows college enrollment across graduating classes, while “Enrollment Within Trend” follows the cumulative college enrollment of a specified graduating class for up to 48 months. This report has been updated with data for graduation years 2015-16 and prior.

College Enrollment by High SchoolShows the number of Michigan public high school graduates who enrolled in a college or university. The report displays the information by high school graduation year and shows how many Michigan students are going on to college, whether they are first enrolling in two-year or four-year institutions, and how soon they enroll after graduating from high school. This report has been updated with “Time to Enrollment” data for graduation years 2016-17 and prior.

College Progression by Graduating Class: Shows how Michigan students are progressing in postsecondary education after high school graduation. The report can help people like counselors and administrators understand their graduates' college enrollment and how long it takes to earn a certificate or degree. This report will be updated with postsecondary school year data for graduation years 2015-16 and prior.

College Remedial Coursework: Shows the number of Michigan public high school graduates who took at least one remedial course after enrolling in a Michigan college or university the year after high school graduation. This could be an indicator of college preparedness. This report will be updated with high school graduation year 2015-16 data.

College Undergraduate EnrollmentProvides a summary of undergraduate students enrolled at Michigan colleges and universities, searchable by college. The report offers a closer look into the colleges’ and universities’ undergraduate classes, providing details regarding the proportion of students attending with the intent of earning a college degree, student age, and whether the student graduated from a Michigan public high school the prior year. This report will be updated with 2016-17 school year data.

College Transfers: Provides transfer patterns, demographics, and performance data for students who transferred into or out of a Michigan college or university. The data help users understand student transfer patterns and characteristics, including demographics and aggregate grade point averages earned after transferring. The data can also lead to collaboration between schools that share students to improve student achievement. This report has been updated with 2016-17 school year data.

Staffing Count: Provides an unduplicated count of staff such as teachers, administrators, substitutes, paraprofessionals/aides and non-instructional employees, by ISD, district and school. Count information is comparable by gender and race/ethnicity and can be run both by headcount and FTE. This report will be updated with 2017-18 school year data.

Student Count: Provides an unduplicated count and demographic breakdown of students attending a district or school as of the legislated fall count day. This report has been updated with 2017-18 school year data.

Released into Preview – Preview will Last One Week*

Non-Resident Status: Reflects students who attend school in a district that differs from their resident district. The data show where students are going if they leave their school to attend another school, or where students are coming from when entering a school from another local education agency district or public school academy (PSA, or charter school). This report will be updated with 2017-18 school year data.

*The preview window is for educators to see data before they're released to the public. Data are embargoed from being released to the media or any outside party until they're released publicly.
