MSDS Graduation Rate Appeals Window Closes Sept. 16
The graduation rate appeals window in the Michigan Student Data System (MSDS) will close at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, September 16. This is your final opportunity to review and correct the data used to calculate your graduation rate.

MSDS LEP Proficiency Exit Reminder
The window to exit LEP students as proficient is available now through 11:59 p.m. EDT, September 16, 2015 in the MSDS Student Record Maintenance 2014-15 Collection. To exit a student as proficient, districts must submit the LEP Component with LEP Exit Reason “50” along with an LEP exit date that is on or before June 30, 2015. It is important to note that any student that has not been exited as proficient during the 2014-15 school year will be considered as LEP in the upcoming 2015-16 school year.
REP Is Now Open for Fall 2015
The Fall 2015 Registry of Educational Personnel (REP) opened September 1, and you have until December 1 to submit REP data. Please be sure to review the Fall 2015 REP Data Field Descriptions, Record Layout, and other important materials located on the REP Web page under the Manuals, Help and Training and the Technical Material sections of the page.
Nonpublic School Personnel Report Is Now Open for Fall 2015
The Fall 2015 Nonpublic School Personnel Report (NPSPR) in the Registry of Educational Personnel (REP) opened September 1 and will remain open for submissions until December 1. Please be sure to review the Fall 2015 NPSPR Data Field Descriptions and other important materials located on the Nonpublic Schools page under the Manuals, and Help and Training sections of the page.
FID 2014-15 Collection Now available
The Financial Information Database (FID) application is now open for the collection of 2014-15 financial data. Per Public Act 85 of 2015, FID data are now due to CEPI by November 1, 2015. Because that date falls on a Sunday this year, the application will be open until 11:59 p.m. EST on Monday, November 2.
Support materials can be found by going to the FID Web page. Information on the Michigan Public School Accounting Manual is located on MDE’s website. MSDS Direct Certification Report Refresh: August 31
The report of students who are directly certified to receive free supplemental nutrition services was refreshed Monday, August 31, using the following records:
- End-of-Year 2015 General Collection certified records
- Early Roster Collection records that were resolved and error-free prior to August 27

MI School Data
Student Testing Reports Planned Release for Late Fall
In the 2014-15 academic year, Michigan moved all state assessments to the late spring. In addition, the M-STEP replaced the MEAP. Because the tests were administered late in the school year and additional work was involved in scoring the new M-STEP, public results for the 2014-15 tests will not be available until late fall. High school test results for the ACT and 11th grade M-STEP will be available at the same time.
Annual Education Report (AER) Planned Release for Late Fall
It is anticipated that the data necessary for the creation of the Annual Education Report will not be available until late fall of 2015. At that time the general report information, cover letter templates, and combined report data will be updated to reflect the 2014-15 school year information.
