Swim more, save more with a pool punch pass
Looking for a great deal on swimming? Ann Arbor’s Pool Punch Pass offers flexible, year-round access to Buhr, Fuller, Mack and Veterans Memorial Park pools. Passes are valid for open and lap swim — just one punch per person, per visit.

* 50 punches: $187.50
* 100 punches: $350

Private lessons
You an also register for private one-on-one swim lessons at the pools. Visit the website to see location and session information. Individual swim instruction is for swimmers ages 3 to adult, each private lesson is 30-minutes long and customized to meet the needs of the swimming participant. Private lessons are for one participant only. Fee: Half hour $22 resident; $30 nonresident.


Day camp opening
Buhr Park Pool Day Camp has openings for the week of July 14 (Nature week). Located in the heart of Buhr Park, the camp provides a dynamic environment for campers ages 5-12 to explore nature, engage in exciting themed activities and make lifelong memories with new friends. Campers will cool off in the pool daily, enjoying plenty of time to splash, play, and have fun in the water! They are grouped by age at the start of each week, giving them the opportunity to connect with their counselors and build friendships while enjoying a fun and supportive atmosphere. Shop and eat local!
On Saturday, June 21 and Wednesday June, 25 the Ann Arbor Farmers Market will be open 7 a.m.-3 p.m. at 315 Detroit St. It is berry season! Our vendors will have strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, cherries, mulberries, rhubarb, asparagus, annuals, perennials, hanging baskets, vegetable and herb seedlings, native plants, fresh greens, mushrooms, cut flowers, root vegetables, houseplants, honey, eggs, pastured meat and poultry, fish, cheese, bread, pastries, allergen free baked goods, chocolate, spices, jam, sauerkraut, pickles, beverages, prepared food, jewelry, candles, body care products, art and more. We accept cash, and tokens for credit/debit card, mobile payment, and SNAP/EBT are available at the construction trailer in the parking lot. Service animals only. Accessible restrooms are available. *Saturday, June 28, Tacos El Mariachi Loco food truck will be serving lunch and Fork in Nigeria food truck will be here from 3-8 p.m. Additionally we welcome mobile food vendors Pilar’s Tamales, Samosa House & Baan Phad Thai.

* Wednesday, July 2, the TruPizza Co food truck will be serving lunch. There will be a live music performance by Stephen Castiglione and Noah Gibbs at 11 a.m.

Concert and picnic at the Ann Arbor Senior Center
Join us for a special evening at the Ann Arbor Senior Center, Wednesday, July 2, 5-9 p.m. (1320 Baldwin Ave.) Enjoy a live outdoor performance by the Ann Arbor Civic Band in Burns Park, bring your own picnic and take the opportunity to explore all that the senior center has to offer. Attendees can tour the facility, learn about programs, services and rental opportunities, meet staff and connect with other community members. Picnic outdoors during the concert or dine indoors at the senior center. Complimentary ice cream will be served after the performance. This event is free and open to the public. Painless Poetry 2.0
Tuesdays, Aug. 12-Sept. 2, 10-11:30 a.m. Poetry can be a lot of fun! Woof woof: Pop-up dog park temporarily opens for the holiday weekend
The short-term dog park that was established at ballfield No. 4 at Veterans Memorial Park last fall is reopening Friday, July 4 through Sunday, July 6. On Saturday, July 5 park staff will host a fun dog event for pets and their owners from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The event will include a best trick contest at noon, pup crafts, dog enrichment and cool treats for pets and humans. Time for fireworks?
If you’re planning to celebrate Independence Day with fireworks, please remember to do so safely and responsibly. This Independence Day, fireworks are permitted only June 29–July 5 after 11 a.m. until 11:45 p.m. each of these days, per the Michigan Fireworks Safety Act 256 of 2011, section 28.457 Local ordinances.

Further, anyone setting off fireworks that cause a fire resulting in property damage will potentially face civil and criminal liability. If you plan to use fireworks, please follow the laws, do so safely and be courteous by letting neighbors know in advance. This includes being mindful of any military Veterans or others who may be sensitive to the noise associated with fireworks.
