City of Ann Arbor Updates: In-person City Operations Resume June 8, Compost Center Reopens June 6, Important Water Info for Reopenings
City of Ann Arbor, MI sent this bulletin at 06/04/2020 01:34 PM EDT
Your interest in updates from the City of Ann Arbor is appreciated. Please note the following new information:
- The City of Ann Arbor will resume in-person services at Larcom City Hall Monday, June 8, with new COVID-19 safety protocols in place. Online payments and service requests are still encouraged, but those who must visit Larcom City Hall will be required to wear a face covering and maintain physical distancing.
- The Ann Arbor compost facility will reopen Saturday, June 6, for residents to drop off yard waste and to purchase compost, mulch and wood chips. Compost, up to 1 cubic yard, will be available free to residents for a limited time on Saturdays, 8 a.m.-noon, while supplies last.
- While the City of Ann Arbor can ensure safe water is delivered to your offices and residences, if your workplace or home has not been in operation or occupied during the past few months due to the Stay Home Stay Safe order, then it is important to follow guidelines on flushing interior building piping before water is used. Flushing is recommended for any property that has not had any water usage for more than a week. Visit www.QualityWaterMatters.org for complete guidelines to ensure water used at properties where there has been no or limited occupancy is fresh and safe for all uses. The Washtenaw County Health Department also has business reopening guidance available online: https://www.washtenaw.org/DocumentCenter/View/16407/COVID-19-Reopening-Guidance-for-Businesses

This year, completing your census form now, as opposed to waiting, is more important than ever. Later this summer, census takers from our community will begin visiting every household that has not responded. With COVID-19 causing us all to be more cautious with in-person interactions, your self-response - online, by mail or by phone - will prevent a census taker from having to visit you ... and that would be much appreciated. Thank you to all who have already completed the 2020 Census and to those who plan to soon! BE COUNTED! Complete your 2020 Census today. Funding and representation for our community depend on YOU!
