Ann Arbor Canoe Liveries Fall Fun

Come paddle a canoe or kayak on the Huron River this fall!

Gallup Park Canoe Livery and Coffee Shop are open 7 days/week weather permitting from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and close for the season October 23rd.  Boat rentals available from the Gallup Livery are the 1.5 hour River Trip through Ann Arbor and 2 miles of Stillwater paddling in Gallup Park.  The Gallup Livery offers canoes, 2-person kayaks, 1-person kayaks, rowboats and paddleboats to rent.

Argo Canoe Livery is closed this fall due to construction of a canoe bypass channel being built around Argo Dam.  Next year there will not be a portage on the 1.5 hour trip from Argo to Gallup and the 2.5 hour trip from Barton to Gallup. This is an exciting improvement making the river trip accessible and more fun for everyone and will increase paddling opportunities such as rafts and tube rentals. Go to the Gallup Park Canoe Livery this fall for all boat rentals including the river trips.

Upcoming Fall Programs at the Gallup Canoe Livery:

River Kids - Enjoy the wonderful autumn colors as we explore the river on paddleboats, kayaks, and canoes.  Stories, art and playing in the park round out the river fun. Month long sessions on either Tuesday or Wednesday mornings from 10 to 11:30 a.m. with a caregiver in September and October. Pre-registration at a2gov.org/parks.

Fall Bonfire on the River - Saturday, September 17th, 7 to 10 p.m. Fee: $18/canoe or 2-person kayak, $14/1-person kayak. Celebrate the end of summer by canoeing or kayaking up to a blazing bonfire floating on Gallup Pond. Campfire and marshmallows included! No pre-registration required.

Trick or Treat Down the River! - Sunday, October 16th.  Begin your river trip from the Gallup Livery anytime between 12 and 4 p.m. Enjoy the haunting fall beauty of the Huron River by canoe or kayak.  As you paddle down the river you will encounter creatures handing out treats and candy.  Bring a bag for your candy and keep an eye out for the swashbuckling pirates as they patrol the waters! No pre-registration required, all ages welcome.
