The Maine Universal Immunization Program is officially underway! July 1 marked the first day of adult vaccine ordering for enrolled providers.
As we continue to work with providers through the new ordering process, we want to share a few important reminders:
Resources
Bookmark our new Universal Immunization Program webpage. This page is the central location for program updates, enrollment information, eligibility guidance, frequently asked questions, and other helpful resources.
Interested in joining the program? Email ImmunizeME.DHHS@maine.gov and we’ll walk you through the enrollment process and provide the required forms and information packet to get started.
Required Educational Training
Primary and secondary vaccine coordinators are required to complete the Annual Maine Immunization Program Training. Newly assigned vaccine coordinators must complete the required educational training before participating in the program.
Join us for program updates, eligibility reminders, ordering guidance, and an opportunity to ask questions. The Maine CDC Immunization Program (MIP) will host Office Hours every other Thursday from 12:00 – 12:45 p.m. Our next session is July 9, 2026.
IMPORTANT: Continue using your existing privately purchased vaccine before ordering state supplied vaccine. Existing private vaccine may be administered to both pediatric and adult patients (ages 0-64), as long as it is being used according to age indications and routine recommendations are being followed.
