PENMENVY (MenABCWY) Now Available for Ordering 

On April 15-16, 2025, Advisory Committee on Immunization Practice (ACIP) voted to recommend the new pentavalent vaccine, PENMENVY (MenABCWY), from GSK for use in individuals aged 10 through 25 years to prevent Meningococcal disease. Most invasive meningococcal disease in the United States is caused by Neisseria meningitidis serogroups B, C, W, and Y.  

Indications and Usage for PENMENVY:

PENMENVY (MenABCWY) is a vaccine indicated for active immunization to prevent invasive disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis serogroups A, B, C, W, and Y in individuals ages 16-23 years of age as an option for healthy people receiving MenACWY and MenB vaccines at the same visit. The vaccine combines GSK’s Menveo MenACWY vaccine and its Bexsero MenB vaccine.   

PENMENVY is also indicated for individuals 10 through 25 years who are at increased risk of meningococcal disease due to health conditions (persistent complement deficiencies, complement inhibitor use or functional or anatomic asplenia) and are due for both MenACWY and MenB vaccines. 

REMINDER: MenB vaccines are not interchangeable. The same vaccine (either BEXSERO by GSK or TRUMENBA® by Pfizer) must be used for all doses in the MenB series, including booster doses. The pentavalent MenABCWY product PENMENVY (GSK) contains MenB-4C (BEXSERO) as its MenB component; therefore, PENMENVY should only be used in a series with BEXSERO.   

Preparation and Administration:

  • PENMENVY is supplied as one vial of Lyophilized MenACWY Component (powder) and one prefilled syringe of MenB Component (liquid) which must be combined before administration.  
  • Use only the supplied MenB Component to reconstitute the Lyophilized MenACWY Component.  
  • A single dose after reconstitution is approximately 0.5 mL. 
  • For intramuscular use (IM).   

Storage and Handling: 

PENMENVY must be stored refrigerated, 36 F – 46 F (2°C to 8°C), in the original package.  

PENMENVY is supplied in cartons containing:  

  • 10 vials of Lyophilized MenACWY Component (powder) and 10 prefilled TIP-LOK syringes (Luer Lock syringes) of MenB Component (liquid). 
  • Prepare PENMENVY™ by reconstituting the Lyophilized MenACWY Component with the MenB Component.  
  • After reconstitution, administer a single dose (0.5mL) of PENMENVY via the intramuscular (IM) route.
