Cybersecurity Awareness Month

Week 2

Greetings,

Welcome to Week 2 of Cybersecurity Awareness Month!

This week, we’re focusing on the importance of keeping your software up to date.  Regular updates to your Software, Operating System, and Applications are crucial for maintaining your online security.

This week’s message and the attached newsletter (again, credit to Maine Office of Information and Technology for both) will cover:

     •  The Benefits of Regular Updates:
How updates protect your information and improve security.

     •  How to Ensure Updates:
Tips for managing and installing updates efficiently.

     •  Getting the Right Updates:
Where to find and how to install the latest updates.

Staying current with updates is a key step in safeguarding your digital environment.  This will help keep your devices secure by patching security flaws and adding new security features.  Software updates can fix known flaws that hackers could use to access your device and steal data, install malware, or encrypt your files. New security features make it harder for attackers to compromise your devices.

Please find this week’s newsletter attached for more details.
