Primary Prevention Prescription Drug Misuse Mini-Grant Funding Available
Maine Department of Health & Human Services sent this bulletin at 05/19/2025 04:09 PM EDTMaine Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s Tobacco and Substance Use Prevention and Control (TSUPC) Program has released a funding opportunity for mini-grants focused on the prevention of prescription drug misuse through SAMHSA’s Strategic Prevention Framework for Prescription Drugs (SPF-Rx) grant program. Mini grants will be up to $4,900 apiece and will be awarded to community agencies for one-year projects, starting 10/1/2025.
Selected applications will align with the goals and objectives of the grant program, as laid out in the application. To read more and to apply, please visit the survey link. Included in this email is an intervention guide (also available through the survey link) with activities/interventions to choose from as well as a PDF survey to view. Consider the maximum budget of $4900.00 and cost of staff time, materials, etc. when selecting and describing your interventions. Funding cannot be spent on food, computers/technology equipment, or harm reduction activities including naloxone, syringes, or fentanyl/xylazine test strips.

All applications are due in Microsoft Forms by 11:59pm on Monday, June 6, 2025 and will be reviewed in the weeks to follow. Upon notice of award, applicants will be required to submit vendor forms and have a final workplan and project budget submitted to and approved by Maine CDC.
