When you applied for MaineCare, you provided your email address to the Department of Health and Human Services as a way to contact you. MaineCare Services has added you to the email list for MaineCare members. We will send you an email if we update our resources, make changes to benefits or services, or if we have other information to share. We may also ask your opinion about your health care services or notify you about opportunities available to you.
Starting January 1, 2025, MaineCare members aged19 and up, will need to get their flu and COVID-19 vaccines at their provider’s office. These vaccines will still be free for MaineCare members because they will be covered by the Vaccine for Children Program.
Why is this changing?
The current program that covers flu and COVID-19 vaccines (The Third Amendment to the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness, PREP) will expire on December 31, 2024. The Vaccine for Children Program will only cover these vaccines if MaineCare members get them at their provider's office.
