MaineCare No Longer Covers Over the Counter (also called at-home) COVID-19 Tests

When you applied for MaineCare, you provided your email address to the Department of Health and Human Services as a way to contact you. MaineCare Services has added you to the email list for MaineCare members. We will send you an email if we update our resources, make changes to benefits or services, or if we have other information to share. We may also ask your opinion about your health care services or notify you about opportunities available to you.
During the COVID-19 pandemic MaineCare covered over the counter COVID-19 tests under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
As of October 1, 2024. MaineCare no longer covers over the counter COVID-19 tests.
You can order four free COVID-19 test kits by visiting this website https://covidtests.gov.
