Subject: Temporary Pause of Nirsevimab Ordering
We are writing to notify providers of a temporary pause in Nirsevimab ordering. On Friday, October 13, 2023, U.S. CDC shared the following message with state immunization programs:
“In light of high demand and limited supply of Nirsevimab, we are temporarily pausing public health ordering of this immunization. CDC has placed additional orders of Nirsevimab with the manufacturer and plans to re-open ordering next week with allocations in place. We anticipate additional product will be made available approximately every 2 to 3 weeks by the manufacturer. We will continue to update you on future calibration of ordering.”
In response to this communication, the Maine Immunization Program has turned off all Nirsevimab ordering within ImmPact and will be following an allocation model once ordering is opened back up. A communication will be sent to providers as soon as ordering can be resumed.
