Subject: 2023-2024 Influenza Vaccine Availability and Ordering

The Maine Immunization Program (MIP) is pleased to announce that influenza vaccines are now available for VFC enrolled providers to order through ImmPact. This document will instruct you on how to order the vaccine.
MIP will be supplying seasonal influenza vaccine for all children in Maine, ages 6 months through 18 years.
The Vaccine Information Statement is available. Please continue to use the August 6, 2021 version. Please visit: https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/hcp/vis/vis-statements/flu.pdf to obtain a copy of the current edition.
The following information must be up to date within ImmPact prior to placing an order:
- Provider Agreement
- Current ImmPact User Agreement
- Current submission of temperatures
- Current reconciliation of inventory
Specific vaccine presentations offered by MIP for children 6 months through 18 years of age, MIP’s ordering parameters for specific populations (due to funding source restrictions), and the age indications approved by FDA are below:

How to Order Vaccine:
Please order only the amount of vaccine that you know you will be administering for a 6-week time period. Small and frequent orders will help to minimize wastage. This is especially important as influenza will now be included in MIP's Wastage and Replacement Policy.
The influenza vaccine presentations available will be added as a choice on your vaccine order list. Influenza vaccine will be displayed as the following:

Creating a vaccine order:
Under the Inventory section on the side menu in ImmPact:
- Select “Manage Orders” by clicking on the link
- Click “Create New Order” located in the middle of the screen
- Choose the influenza vaccine presentation and enter the dose amount that you would like to receive
- After creating your order click “Submit Order”
NOTE: Once your vaccines have arrived at your facility, please complete the following steps within ImmPact:
- Click the “Manage Transfers” link
- Click the blue hyperlink date under the "Create Date" column
- Click the "Accept Transfer" tab
Additional information:
It is allowable to bill a reasonable administration fee, provided that no patient is denied state supplied vaccine for inability to pay. If the patient is VFC eligible you may not bill for more than $21.58 for the administration fee.
