Free Training Opportunities for Resource Families
The Resource Family Training Team at the Catherine Cutler Institute, University of Southern Maine, is excited to share two new independent online trainings available for FREE in the Resource Family Training Portal.
Building Children's Resilience teaches how to support children to overcome adversity, trauma, and separation and manage their feelings, stress, and uncertainty associated with their experiences.
Building Parental Resilience increases parents' awareness of strategies to support personal, emotional, and parental needs when caring for a child through the foster care system.
You can complete each independent online course on your own time and at your own pace, which takes about an hour or less to complete. The courses contain videos, podcasts, and prompts designed to help you apply your knowledge and help you feel more prepared for experiences you will address as a resource parent. For each course you complete, you can earn a certificate of completion for your resource family license renewal continuing education requirements.
