Subject: COVID-19 Vaccine Shelf-Life Extensions Update

Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen:
- Supply of the J&J COVID-19 vaccine will expire between now and the end of May.
- Shelf-life extensions are not anticipated by FDA.
- The U.S. government is not planning to purchase more J&J/Janssen vaccine.
- Providers currently offering J&J/Janssen vaccine are encouraged to carry alternative vaccine options (i.e. Novavax).

Novavax:
- Some Novavax supply will be due to expire on February 28, 2023.
- A new supply of Novavax (NDC 80631-0100-10) is now available to order.
- The supply now available has an expiration date of April 30, 2023.
- Additional supply with expiry beyond April is expected to be available prior to the current inventory’s expiry to ensure a continuous supply.

Moderna:
- Several lots of monovalent Moderna COVID-19 vaccines for children aged 6 months – 5 years have received shelf-life extensions. The lots are split into two groups:
- Some lots of primary series Moderna 10 (age 12+) and Moderna 5 (ages 6-11) have also received shelf-life extensions.
- All dates have been updated in the Moderna Vial Expiration Checker.
Pfizer:
- All TRIS products (i.e., all MRNA COVID-19 vaccines, including monovalent and bivalent vaccines) have received shelf-life extensions.
- Expiry is now 18 months from the date of manufacture.
- Please use the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Lot Expiry tool to check expiration dates.
