Electronic Visit Verification Update
The January 1, 2021 Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) implementation deadline is approaching, which means that the current three-day pend process for EVV claims will end on December 31, 2020.
For dates of service beginning January 1, 2021, claims without a verified matching EVV record will pend for up to 30 days and then deny if no verified EVV record is found.
After January 1, new claims with dates of service from before January 1 will not go through the pend process at all.
In advance of the January 1st deadline, we would like to highlight the following resources:
- EVV Implementation Tips covering span billing, GPS exceptions, third party vendor systems, online tools, and more.
- Exceptions Requirement Update including the planned removal of two common exception IDs.
Additional information regarding the EVV requirement, including FAQs, are available on our EVV webpage. Please note that we have several trainings and forums scheduled through March 2021 and encourage providers to attend.
Please contact Provider Services with EVV questions:
- Email MaineCare's EVV email box.
