Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Claim Pend Process Delay
The pend process we announced for Personal Care Services (PCS) claims with dates of service beginning on March 1, 2020 has been postponed as we continue to verify the successful integration of Alternate EVV systems with the State EVV system. This means claims with dates of service beginning on March 1, 2020 will not be subject to an EVV claim edit. Once we have completed our verification of Alternate EVV system integration, we will notify you ten business days before implementing the pend process. Therefore, you are strongly encouraged to continue your work toward implementation of the EVV requirements to meet the impending deadlines.
Once the pend process is in place, the EVV edit will pend claims for a three day recycle period unless an EVV record is found. Unless denied for other reasons, claims subject to EVV requirements will pend while searching for a matching EVV record and then process to pay.
The deadlines to implement EVV continue to be July 1, 2020 for PCS services and January 1, 2023 for Home Health providers delivering services under Section 40.
Providers using Alternate or 3rd Party EVV Systems
If you are planning to utilize an Alternate or 3rd Party EVV system, we encourage you to use the State EVV system until you’ve completed the Alternate EVV System Integration process.
To begin using the State EVV System, please follow the instructions in the EVV System Set-Up Options section of the EVV webpage. If you have not yet logged into the State EVV System, your account may require a password reset. Please contact Provider Services for assistance.
