G0499 Billing Approved for Physicians and Hospitals, CR 69617

***There was an error in the e-message published on July 27, 2017. Part of the diagnosis codes were removed in error. Please see the corrected message below.***

Effective July 1, 2017 The Department has opened billing for G0499 (Hepatitis B screening in non-pregnant, high risk individuals) under Section 45, Hospitals and Section 90, Physicians. To be considered for reimbursement, claims billed for G0499 must contain the following:

Diagnosis Codes for G0499 screening only:

Z11.59 - Encounter for screening for other viral disease; and
Z72.89 - Other Problems related to life style.

Diagnosis Codes for G0499 subsequent visits:

Z11.59 Encounter for screening for other viral diseases; and one of the following high risk codes:
F11.10-F11.99
F13.10-F13.99
F14.10-F14.99
F15.10-F15.99
Z20.2 - Z20.5
