Media Advisory: Mid-Maine Homeless Shelter Ribbon-cutting & Open House
On Monday, nearly 200 people are expected to celebrate the opening of the new Mid-Maine Homeless Shelter at its new location in Waterville where a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house will be held. Since 1990, the Mid-Maine Homeless Shelter has been both a home and a place for hope for thousands of homeless adults and children. Historically, this particular shelter has a very low return rate and a program to help guests build and execute an action plan for recovery.
Governor Paul LePage will share congratulatory remarks, speak about his involvement with the shelter and give hope to those affected by homelessness today.
Additional speakers will include Mid-Maine Homeless Executive Director, Betty Palmer, Mid-Maine Homeless Shelter Board members, Doug Cutchin and Kevin Joseph, Vice Chair of the Rebuilding Lives Campaign, Susan Reisert, and representatives of the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce and Sheridan Corporation (Sheridan constructed the building).
WHEN: 10 a.m., Monday, October 8, 2012
WHERE: 19 Colby Street, Waterville
