DMR Announces the Following:

**Online Discussion Only** Workshop to discuss with industry future testing of American oysters

WHO: The Aquaculture Advisory Council and DMR

WHAT: A Biotoxin Workshop

WHEN: Thursday, February 26 from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

WHERE: Online access only via Microsoft Teams

WHY: There was a red tide/Paralytic Shellfish poisoning bloom in the summer of 2025 that impacted many oyster farmers, particularly in Casco Bay. This workshop is to discuss possible changes to the DMR biotoxin monitoring program to most effectively manage the risk of future red tide events for farmed American oysters in the Casco Bay area.

This is a repeat remote-only session as the one held at the Northeast Aquaculture Conference and Exposition (NACE), Portland, Maine on January 7, 2025.

WHO SHOULD COME: The AqAC and DMR are particularly interested in receiving input from active, Maine aquaculture industry members in the Casco Bay area.

Hope you see you there!
