Good morning,  

Please be advised that DMR is processing an emergency action that will implement emergency conservation closures in the areas below, effective Sunday, January 19, 2025: 

  • Cobscook Bay along with Whiting & Denny's Bay Limited Access Area
    • NOTE: St. Croix River, from Kendall Head north to Calais will remain open.
  • Upper Machias and Little Machias Bays RA
  • Upper Western Bay RA

We are wanting to provide early notice to allow additional time for harvesters to make safe travel plans, as needed. A follow-up notice will be issued on Friday with the complete details of the emergency rulemaking package, along with updates to the scallop boundaries map.
