On April 21 from 6-8PM, the Department of Marine Resources (DMR) will be hosting a virtual meeting with striped bass stakeholders. The purpose of the meeting is to create a forum where DMR can provide informational updates on the science and interstate management of striped bass, and where stakeholders can provide input and feedback on the management of the stock in Maine. This is an opportunity to exchange information and for DMR to hear ideas from interested parties. While DMR staff plans to provide updates on the timeline of management actions at the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission, this is not a public hearing on the draft Amendment 7 Public Information Document. A draft agenda for the meeting is outlined below.

Draft Agenda:

  1. Welcome/Introduction (6PM)
  2. Volunteer Angler Logbook Update (6:10PM)
    • DMR presentation on 2020 Logbook data, electronic Logbook
  3. Science Update (6:30PM)
    • DMR presentation on juvenile abundance index, acoustic data
  4. Management Update (6:50PM)
    • DMR presentation on recent and ongoing ASMFC actions
  5. Open Discussion on Striped Bass Science and Management in Maine (7:15PM)
